Seeing David Hockney with his i pad makes me want one. Does anyone have experience with the drawing and painting on these or similar? Advice on which to try?
I'd prefer something a bit smaller to carry about outside for quick drawings.

PLaces like PC world sell ipads you should be able to just go in there and try one out...Id be interested to know how you get on.

I have found drawing on the PC disappointing - it looks great on screen but when its printed off it looks a bit sad...

I went into Currys at Long Rock and they said they cannot download any apps, even the free ones, to show me how they work before I decide if I want to buy an i pad.
I then phoned p c world and was told no p c world or currys can do this, the man did not know why. I asked him to send my complaint further as it seems ridiculous to spend £4oo without being able to try the item out. He kindly told me if I had already bought an i pad they would help me to use it if I downloaded the apps.
Possibly its ridiculous to spend £400 full stop.
Maybe the apple store is more helpful?

Just go to an apple store or find someone who has one, stormfront in Truro too, dont bother with muppets at currys and the like.. It's not difficult to use an ipad, Im a mac addict, for over 15 years.. but the first time I used an ipad it took me a little while to get used to where stuff is located and how to transfer stuff, I'd say to get the best you'd need maybe 30 mins instruction, you'll also need a icloud account, as with all these things people shouldn't assume its completley easy, you wouldn't jump in a new car and floor it at 90 on the motorway if you had not re-adjusted to the controls etc..

Well in the Apple store in Truro they are  a lot more helpful and you can try out the drawing.
Incidentally disconcerting news in the Observer of poor conditions in China for the workers who make the apple stuff.
