As you may already be aware, Art in the City returns to Truro from 2nd – 15th April for its fourth year.
Big Art continues to be a highlight of the festival, with 16 artists taking to the streets of Truro to create their very own piece of art in just 8 hours. Following on from the success of the 2011 event, we are once again looking for artists who would like to take part in the event.
As a ‘Big Art’ artist you will be supplied with a large, freestanding canvas, which will be 5 x 4 feet in size. You will also be assigned a location in the city and will receive up to £50 towards your materials (claimed on receipts). You will need to complete your canvas during one day so you will need to ensure you arrive on the morning prepared with your piece thought through.
There will be two painting days this year, so please let me know if you would prefer Monday 2nd April or Tuesday 3rd April.
The work will then be exhibited from Wednesday 4th April – Monday 9th April, and will culminate in an exhibition at the Lander Gallery, with auction taking place on Thursday 12th April.
This is always a popular opportunity, so please email me if you would like to be a part of this event by Tuesday 24th January with your preferred date, or feel free to pass this info on to any interested parties.
We will be informing successful artists of their place in early February.
