... reminds me of -

'i've been too far out all my life
and not waving but drowning..'
(Stevie Smith)

floating seems a pretty good option, by comparison!    Grin

Hope you dont mind me making a point, after recent events on this thread.

Firstly; I dont personally really mind people making personal comments, If I made any points to the contrary then it certainly was not directed to Pondwhelk.

Secondly; the source of my frustration in the fluxshoe thread and litten thread, was to do with what I saw as accusation of overwhelming blandness or a lack of anything good happening in Cornwall. I know it is now clear that I do not think this is true, but at the same time regret arguing with people who may not see it that way.

I see the personal attacks as a total waste of time and energy and I do not have enough of either to get myself involed in it to that level. I have looked in on the 'website design' blurb this morning as another example, and I have to say that these little wars just seem; well, pretty pathetic.

I have been a supporter of the forum as I have seen it as a really positive tool to be used to galvanise what is happening in Cornwall so that the rumble could become louder. Over the last few postings, I have just seen it partly as a tool for cynics to stamp, and I feel sorry for my own part to have waded in to this. On the other hand I see it as a good social tool, again although I think this is valid and Im glad people enjoy this aspect it is not what I would hope it would become solely.

I hope that the real issues that face Cornwall, can be dealt with by this forum.

I am sorry to Linda for taking the thread from my own part where I did, but at the same time I am fundamentally against much of what she says and has said, as I am Robert, but I totally wish I had not got in to a heated debate about it. I think it is fine to have differeing opinions on this forum and it does actually feed it in some way.

From my own point, I shall aim to avoid pointless crossfire. Life is too short.

Robert
I totally agree with you. All my comments about web stuff was, (well initially) about design, and so on. It was other members who then felt aggrieved and then personally, well attacking me. I have been a member of this forum since it started, and for the record always kept it on cue and on topic. If you were to tell me for example you thought my work was rubbish, the fine I'd take it on the chin, yep perhaps there could be some discussion, but that's how it is. In fact it reminds me a little of the MAC v PC that has run on for years.

You'll get a PC nut talking about computers with a MAC nut. Pretty soon they are steaming. And in the end they'll never agree. Cos one is working and thinking on a tech level and the other is thinking about 'usability, the feel of the desktop and so on, design etc.' It fundamental this type of picking and pecking.
