Ancient Scent was an artist-led project celebrating the process and philosophy of surrealist artist Ithell Colquhoun, who lived in Lamorna Valley for many years during the second half of the 20th Century. A group of West Country artists and sorcerers met up once a month for a year in a series of process-based workshops held on location in Lamorna Valley. The sessions took techniques from Colquhoun's essay 'Children of the Mantic Stain' and included stillomancy, parsemage, fumage, frottage, collage and scrying and they culminated in an exhibition and launch event at the Village Hall.
