'Portrait' was filmed in 1977 in and around Bristol. Monica Sjoo was the UK's first second wave feminist artist (cf Parker and Pollock: Framing Feminism (1987)). She was also a prolific writer: contributor to the feminist and pagan alternative press, and author of 'The Ancient Religion of the Great Cosmic Mother of all' (1981).
