Bullans Court: the home and studio of Sandra Blow in St Ives

Jonathan Grimble

Sandra Blow left London to move to St Ives in 1994, having first stayed and worked in Penwith in 1957. In 1999 she moved into Bullans Court: a house that was built in the 1930s on a site that had once been a stable block, and that subsequently housed a carpet showroom and light haulage company. On the north side of the complex was a metal industrial building that Blow adapted to provide her with a large high-ceilinged studio. Sandra Blow died in 2006, but now, in 2008, Bullans court remains almost exactly as she left it.
